About Me

I began my recruiting career as an agency recruiter, three decades ago. Within two years, I moved to a small consulting company with responsibilities for sales and staffing, supporting Fortune 500 companies in my hometown of Chicago, IL. Soon after, I focused my career as a professional contract recruiter. This allowed me the opportunity to work with world-class companies such Accenture, CA Technologies, Sybase (now SAP), Northern Trust, PeopleSoft, Cognizant, Navistar, and Trustwave. In April of 2013, I returned to Oracle full time as Principal Talent Advisor for over 7 years. With the pandemic at the start of the year, I went independent joined by a small team of sourcers and consulting advisors at my back.

Since 1990, most of my experience has been in the Technology space, recruiting support personnel to sales leaders all the way up to the executive level. Positions range from Application and Software development, Artificial Intelligence,  Machine Learning, Security, Infrastructure, Cloud, Sales, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, HR, and Operations.

After years of working in-house with corporate clients I have decided to hang my own shingle as founder of QFormia. It was time to take my passion for recruiting directly to clients to help them attract top talent, streamline their internal recruitment efforts, and work with HR on employee retention and branding.  Understanding your culture quickly and finding niche candidates is my specialty.

Core Values

A wise teacher once brought balloons to school, told her pupils to blow them up and write their name on one. After the children tossed their balloons into the hall, the teacher moved through the hall mixing them all up. Up and down the hallway, other teachers did the same.

The kids were given five minutes to find the balloon with their name on it, but though they searched frantically, no one found their own balloon.

Then the teacher told them to take the balloon closest to them and give it to the person whose name was on it. In less than two minutes, everyone was holding their own balloon.

The teacher said to the children, “These balloons are like happiness. We won’t find it when we’re only searching for our own. But if we care about someone else’s happiness…it will ultimately help us find our own.”

I’m not saying the right candidate will bring happiness, or even that I’ll find them in a balloon. But I do care, I will help, and this doesn’t have to be hard.
